I wish I had a photograph of that night in Yangpyeong when I was hurtling through the darkness and the beam of my handlebar light picked out the frozen stare of a large deer, standing in the middle of the road, just a few meters ahead.

The encounter was sudden, urgent and fraught with the danger of collision.

It was also utterly and completely different from what the reality of my life in Manhattan ever was.

You can pack a suitcase and go.

But what will life be like on the other side of that leaving?
