A man is tuning a piano in our living room. The same piano that long ago used to claim pride of place in the home of Luca and Olin’s great grandmother.
The tuner’s hand is insistent at times, sounding and probing a note over and over again. But then the notes come in a quick flurry and for a few brief moments you feel that the instrument is about to burst into song.
Fatherhood can feel like that as well: searching, listening, observing, teaching and reminding so that over time you might inspire and help your children to become.
And then one day you look back and the enormity of the journey clouds your eyes and makes you hold your breath.
